Inspections 2012

Official Friesian Inspections - 28th September 2012 at Laurel View Equestrian Centre, Templepatrick, Northern Ireland

It was a day to remember for new FHAGBI members Vinny Yates and Clodagh Dowling whose beautiful 7yo mare, Renske Z not only received STER and Best Mare but went on to take the overall Championship for 2012. Irish members put forward a total of 33 horses for KFPS Jury members, Bauke de Boer and Marleen Moosen to judge at the Laurel View Equestrian Centre at the weekend. The horses were presented by one of hollands top Friesian trainers, Piet Sibma and his team of runners.

Brothers, John & Mervyn Moon achieved outstanding success with their homebred horses which served to highlight the superior quality of horse that can be produced with careful stallion selection. John kicked the day off with his charming colt Norbert M (Norbert 444 x Ulke 338) out of his Ster mare Jeike van de Wildwal receiving a prestigious 1st Premie then Champion Foal. Mervyn's 4yo homebred mare Ash (Monte 378 x Ids 300) out of his Ster mare Geikje van de Dollen was the first of 3 mares to receive a 2nd Premie Ster, the other being Hazel Cunninghams's Amkje van Lapinenburg (Lutger 436 x Krist 358).

John had the only Gelding on the day, his homebred 4yo Benitez M (Eibert 419 x Monte 378), who didnt disappoint and also went home with a Ster title. Carrying on his winning streak Johns first stallion in the ring, the 4yo Anstie M (Rindert 406 x Ulbert 390) impressed the judges with his strong racial type and the good activity shown in his paces. He was awarded Ster along with another of John's homebred stallions, the 4yo Cadiz M (Eibert 419 x Monte 378). Not to be outdone by his brother, Mervyn's homebred 3yo stallion, Fernando M (Wobke 403 x Fede 350) was the youngest of the stallions to achieve Ster but John took the top honours in this group with Anstie taking the Champion Stallion title.

The day came to a conclusion after the ridden class won by Ridzert who was beautifully presented by Robyn Wheeler and the driving class won by Alex Fawcett and his fathers Udo van Stal Jaegerhof.
